B9R silica products are micronized synthetic amorphous silica. They are used for removing polar impurities, especially phospholipids and related metal ions, in the oil refining process, and can be used in combination with clays for bleaching, thus achieving the aim of color reduction. Optimum conditions for the use of B9R silica in the oil refining process are:
• Oil temperature is 70-100℃.
• B9R silica is added under stirring, and the recommend usage amount is 0.05-2.0%.
• The contact time between the B9R silica and the slightly moist oil 20-40 minutes.
• The polar contaminants can be adsorbed by B9R silica, and then can be removed through filtration.
